We collect personal information which is reasonably necessary in order for us to perform our business operations, to manage our employees, and to conduct our business appropriately. We only collect information we need, and nothing more. Below is a description of the type of personal information that we collect and the reason for its collection:
CCTV footage, surveillance, and incident data are key aspects of the services that we provide. When we operate or monitor a client’s CCTV system, we collect images and videos of people near the property. We will collect these images and videos for security. This helps with deterrence, detecting incidents, and providing proof.
When we provide services without owning the property. The client decides why the footage is collected and how long it is kept. In both cases, only authorised persons will have access to the data. We will not provide the data externally except when required by law or during the investigation of a past incident. Our officers create reports in the course of duty about any incident. The report may include the names or other personal data of those involved in the reported event.
We use personal information with confidentiality and share it only when there is a need to do so. This includes disclosing information to our clients for operational and incident purposes as part of our services. At times, we use external organisations to provide us with services such as payroll and training programs. These organisations must be able to protect information under their care through proper privacy protection standards. It may also happen that, for legal purposes, we will be bound to share information with regulatory and licensing authorities and government organisations and respond to legal demands made by law enforcement agencies and the court.
Our business respects data security and takes appropriate steps to prevent unauthorised access to personal information. Some of the steps we take include storing information digitally and using other methods to ensure that this data stays safe, such as encrypting the information, restricting access, and using password-protected devices. Any information through our company will only be stored for as long as necessary. The information will be destroyed once this period is over. Under the Privacy Act in the NDB scheme, AMG Security will notify both affected parties and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
